I’m very pleased to announce the release of my new app “Modern Rock Guitar,” which has been designed exclusively for ipad in conjunction with Leafcutter Studios, and is available now from the itunes app store here.
Featuring over 50 exercises, 20 high quality video demonstrations and over 25,000 words of detailed explanations including a section on how to practice along with all relevant theory, this app covers the legato, two-handed tapping, alternate picking and sweeping techniques – an essential resource for all students and fans of legendary modern rock players such as Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, Jason Becker, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert.
Featuring a fully interactive interface with all the practice tools you need, including a metronome, timer, looper, tablature and video player. Unique scale generators present both the 7-position/3-notes-per-string scale forms, as well as the more traditional 5-position or CAGED/EDCAG system. With a host of interactive on-screen buttons to switch from position to position, or to view any position from any modal perspective, all scale and arpeggios are viewable either as note names, intervals or fingerings. The layered design of the CAGED system generators will enable you to toggle through, clearly seeing the chord/scale relationships, as well as easily identifying the additional modal notes within the familiar pentatonic frameworks.
